Family Trip to Tuscany

Pisa, Florence, Siena and Cinque Terre done in 4 days, 2 of those days being travel days! What were we thinking?! We flew into Pisa, rented a car and stayed at a hotel less than 5 minutes from the airport. We explored the small city of Pisa that evening and had dinner at Ristoro Pecorino. We’d recommend eating here and having their house red sangiovese or an Aperol Spritz on a hot day. The next day we headed to wine country to meet with a friend of mine. The GPS routed us off the highway and through the hills of Tuscan wine country which was amazing and at the same-time made me car-sick, lol, but no complaints here. We toured Castello Di Brolio and met with friends for a wine tasting at Barone Ricasoli. From there we all drove to Siena where we ate dinner. We were supposed to go to another winery after that, but we knew Olivia was done for the day so we headed back to Pisa. The following day was our last full day in Italy and we still needed to see Florence and Cinque Terre. We drove into Florence, ate food at the Mercato Centrale, explored the Duomo, and went to Academy Gallery to see Michelangelo’s David. We then headed back to the car to drive to Cinque Terre. We arrived in Cinque Terre in time for a delicious local seafood dinner at Cappun Magru. It may have been the best meal we’ve had in Europe!
